The lack of affordable, safe housing is a critical problem in our area. Your monetary donations and gifts in kind of goods and services increase the available safe, affordable housing in our community and help break the cycle of poverty by providing affordable homes.

  • $100 buys an interior doorfor a child to do homework in the quiet of their own room

  • $500 buys light fixtures throughout the houseto brighten lives
  • $1,000 buys trusses for the roofto give support and security

Your gift will:

  • Provide the up-front funding for building materials and services that make interest-free loans to Habitat partner families possible.
  • Provide program support that enables Richmond Habitat to be a builder, a mortgage company, realtor, developer, social services provider, recruiting and training center, retailer, and center of faith for the community – all wrapped up in one!
  • Support the development of safe, affordable housing for hardworking lower income residents of our community.

Frontline Healthcare Worker Receives Keys to New Home During COVID-19 Pandemic

Terri, a Patient Care Tech at one of the local hospitals and a mother to her young son Derrick, purchased her home through Richmond Habitat’s Affordable Homeownership Program. As a healthcare worker, Terri has been on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to moving into their new home, Terri and Derrick lived in one of the local public housing developments. She was unable to let her son outside to play due to the violence and gunshots heard regularly in her neighborhood.
