On Friday, April 27 Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity held a large scale neighborhood cleanup in Edgelawn – one of our multi-home neighborhoods in Henrico County. Over 100 volunteers, including volunteers from Capital One, Suntrust, Bank of America and Starbucks, joined us in making exterior upgrades to 14 homes in this neighborhood.
Volunteers landscaped, painted porches and fences, installed screen doors, and helped homeowners discard or donate unwanted items. This project was a part of Affordable Housing Awareness Week with a goal of raising awareness for the need for affordable housing in our area.
The day was a huge success and we are so grateful to all the wonderful volunteers who helped make this event possible!
