Richmond Habitat completed a rehab of our home in the Edgelawn neighborhood in Henrico County in December of 2012.  This home was completely sponsored and rehabbed by volunteers from Wells Fargo.

About the Homeowner:  Rahkiesha

for website

For 20-year-old Rahkiesha, owning a Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity home is proof that she is doing everything she can for her young daughter Thom’Mia.

Even though Rahkiesha found out that she was pregnant her senior year of high sc

hool, she still managed to graduate on time, and she plans to attend college this spring to become a respiratory therapist. Undoubtedly, her strength comes from her mother, Blonnie, one of our Richmond Habitat homeowners and a member of our Board of Directors.

Rahkiesha strives to emulate her mother, saying, “My mom is a strong woman who will do anything to help her children. My mom gave my family everything we ever wanted or needed.” In turn, Rahkiesha wants the very best for her own daughter.

When she is not working at CJW Medical Center, Rahkiesha loves to take her daughter to the park, to spend time with her family, and to draw.

We would like to sincerely thank Wells Fargo and all of the volunteers on this project for their commitment to providing safe, affordable housing to hardworking families in the Greater Richmond area.
